Over the last several years, I have served as placement director for the Department of Political Science at UCLA. As part of that, I have made given some workshops to students in the department about the academic job market and about the academic job talk. Slightly truncated versions of the slides I used for these workshops in 2023 are provided below. I hope that these may be useful for others who are considering or currently on the market.
